Man in Barcelona #1

Each time I paint him, it's different and I trying to get that perfect vision I have for the photograph I took and the sketch I made.  I painted this version on very thick 100% 850gsm card.  It's something else and a feature of this painting, in itself.

Barcelona Man

In 2015, I sat in the Plaça de la Verònica, Barcelona and watched a musician smoke a cigarette, hold his beaten up guitar and watch us. It was a fleeting moment where we were both waiting for motivation to stay. I was transfixed to see how long it would take him to start playing and whether the passers by would be worth playing to. I drew him from afar in a little pink sketch book. He sung Bob Marley songs once he started. My sangria was large and yummy under my umbrella.
